clasp and buckle are that clasps are a fastener or, particularly one that clasps while the buckle is (countable) a clasp used for fastening two things together, such as the ends of a belt, or for retaining the end of a strap.
As verbs the difference between clasp and buckle is that clasp is to take hold of; to grasp; to grab tightly while the buckle is to distort or collapse under physical pressure; especially, of a slender structure in compression or buckle can be to fasten using a buckle.
